Working toward a drug-free existence

The St James Camino network is a charity dedicated to rehabilitating and supporting drug dependent men living in Ireland. Since 1997 it has run holistic residential programmes to those who have shown an initial commitment to achieving a drug free existence - without the barrier of high cost. In that time the network has delivered a new start to the lives of over 500 participants and their familes from all walks of life. Rehabilitation Philosophy
Rehabilitation in our Center focuses on the primary nature of addiction and the resultant harmful consequences for the dependent person and his family. Our program is designed to enhance the emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual well being of the addicted persons. Read more

4 Goals

Camino has four goals for the primary care of persons with drug dependency. 

  1. The recognition that drug dependency is a Bio-psychosocial disease.
  2. The recognition for the need for abstinence from all mind altering drugs.
  3. The development and use of an ongoing recovery program to maintain abstinence.
  4. The diagnosis and management of other problems or conditions that could interfere with recovery.
